Being laid off from the Tampa shipyard back in 1976, Byron Lee Jones, age 40, decided to start his own business and founded Mid-Florida Tree Service, Inc. He had only a pick-up, a hand saw and three employees, one of which was his son Tim. With his small crew and determination to prosper, they set out to find work in and around the Tampa area. Fifty plus years have passed since then, and the business has continued to thrive like it did in the beginning.
As with anything in life, there were tough times but Byron learned that by going above normal expectations and completing each and every job professionally and courteously that the company would survive. Byron built the company on the motto, “Treat every customer as if they were your only customer,” always being honest and fair, and never taking any customer for granted.
Tim continued to work alongside his dad Byron through the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, helping to grow and shape Mid-Florida Tree Service, Inc into the company it is today. In 2000, Tim was handed the reigns of the business by his father and has been running it since.
Mid-Florida Tree Service, Inc has earned a reputation for humanitarian and charity work for the services we provide to the local area. We have worked directly with various municipalities around the Tampa area, assisting low-income homeowners with hazardous tree removal or just helping get their property "up to code".
Over the years, Mid-Florida Tree Service's growth has not changed the fact that we are a family and locally owned business serving the community. We have over 10 employees that have been with us for 20 years! While there have been many things that have changed, our focus on politeness, professionalism and efficiency remain a large part of our core values. We instill in our employees from their first day the strong desire for customer satisfaction. What you, our customers, think and feel about the job we do is our highest priority.
